Hello, everyone! My name is Teacher Salvie, and I am a Licensed Professional Teacher. I graduated with a Bachelor of Secondary Education, majoring in English, and I also hold a TEFL certificate.
I have been teaching for five years now. I have one year of experience teaching in a traditional classroom setting and three years of experience teaching on online platforms, and I am continuously gaining more experience in the field.
Throughout my teaching journey, I have learned a lot and have developed greater confidence in sharing my knowledge and skills with my students. I am a teacher who believes in using a student-centered approach. Before creating a teaching strategy, I first assess my students’ skills, needs, and learning levels so I can provide lessons that are appropriate and effective for them.
In my classes, I encourage my students to speak and participate as much as possible. I usually dedicate around 60% of the class to speaking practice, 20% to reading, and 20% to explaining the lesson and providing guidance. I believe that students learn best when they are given enough opportunities to actively participate and express themselves.
I am passionate about teaching students of different ages and proficiency levels, from beginners to intermediate and advanced learners. I enjoy teaching children, teenagers, and adults. I have also helped students prepare for examinations, job interviews, and the IELTS exam. In addition, I have helped young learners develop their phonics skills and improve their pronunciation and reading abilities.
Through these experiences, I have developed greater confidence as a teacher. More importantly, I have had the opportunity to help my students improve their speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills.
